Book Palma Hotels For Your Dream Golf Holiday

by Claire Collins

Majorca, in the Balearic islands, is mostly known for its holiday nightlife and beach lifestyle - but believe it or not, it's also a world-class golfing destination. The year round warm climate and range of facilities means you can find the right course to suit your preferences, skill level and budget. There are more than 20 courses to choose from, all across the island, so there will be something near to you whether you're staying in Palma or Magaluf hotels. Take the opportunity to channel your inner Tiger Woods!

If you're a Jack Nicklaus fan you can head to his Golf Park Puntir, just out of Palma, which features an 18-hole course, surrounded by olive and pine trees. It's also home to the official Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy for beginners.

For something more challenging head even further out of Palma to the Real Golf de Bendinat, which features a sprawling 18-hole golf course where you'll need a buggy in order to get around! The views over the sea at Palma Bay and the surrounding greenery make this a very scenic golfing option.

Nearer the centre, and close to Palma hotels and restaurants are three great courses at the Santa Ponsa Golf Club. The Santa Ponsa I has a great reputation on the international golf circuit and is often used for major tournaments as well. It also has one of the longest holes in all of Europe! Santa Ponsa II is a members-only course, but Santa Ponsa III is the perfect option for beginners or an easygoing game, with a 9-hole course.

If you're booked into Magaluf hotels, then your best neighbouring course will be Golf Poniente - also the island's oldest golf course. This course opened in 1978 and its 10th hole is famous for being one of the best you'll ever take a swing at. All in all, if you're a keen golfer looking for a top quality holiday, Majorca makes will certainly not disappoint.
