If you want to give a pleasant surprise to your young ones, and maybe you yourself, a Disneyland Character meal would be a great idea. Think about it - you'll be chillin' with Mickey, Minnie and the whole posse of Disneyland characters and your child will be most grateful. In fact, this is the best way to really get to interact with them for any length of time.

Making a reservation is the very first step. You will have to call the Disneyland Vacation Planning Services Department who can certainly help you out here. Reservations can be made up to sixty days in advance, so don't leave this to the last minute. It's easier than you think when trying to plan a Disneyland vacation and book it simultaneously.

Every morning, the park serves up character breakfasts. The beauty part is that you don't need to make a reservation. You can take advantage of these breakfast at most of the restaurants, but we suggest starting at Goofy's Kitchen. It is located in the Disneyland Hotel, and there are dishes to please everyone. Children three years of age and younger can eat for free, and this is good news for any family on a budget. All the Disney characters will pop in occasionally, but for sure you will get to see Goofy and Pluto. Since a lot of people know of Goofy's Kitchen and give it their five-star recommendation, reserving early is a must - as the waiting period could take quite a while.

If dining with Princesses is important, than Ariel's Grotto is the place to be. Serving three course meals, this is elegant dining that both kids and adults can enjoy. Different princesses will pass by your table one at a time and join you for your meal. Reservations for Ariel's Grotto are also recommended. This is one place in the park where both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served.

The Storyteller's Caf is another place that is highly recommended for Character Meals. You will need to drop by here for breakfast, otherwise you won't get to see any Characters. They may not spend time at an individual table, but the Characters will engage in group interaction with the children. You can choose between buffet and menu dining, and - you guessed it right - reservations are highly advisable. Some of the Character Breakfast options you have would be Lilo and Stitch, and Minnie Mouse. Breakfast with Minnie and Friends is extremely popular, so make reservations.

The Character Meal is a must in every Disneyland Vacation, so make sure you have one or two planned for the family. This is something that your child will remember forever and interacting with the famous Disney characters that we all know and love is part of what Disneyland is all about! And before we forget, we have to stress once again that reserving in advance is highly recommended for all the above restaurants!
