How To Plan Last Second Emergency Trips

by Adriana Noton

Last minute travel plans require careful planning and timing. At certain times, unexpected emergencies arise or a family decides out the blue to take a trip to an unidentified location. This type of situation is certainly understandable and within reason to be able at a moments notice. How to you make plans at the last second and keep your sanity intact?

Thinking into the future about possibilities of bad things happening gives you an advantage. The resources to have and the means to get where you need to be in a pinch. Stop worrying about airlines not having a seat or reservations unavailable. Set the wheels in motion yourself and make your body able to leave when necessary.

It goes back to thinking ahead. Take a piece of paper and write down telephone numbers for local hotels where family members live out of town or you frequently vacation yearly. Keeping these telephone numbers handy and close by gives you quick access in times of dire need. Place the paper or book you wrote the information on in a location to remember. For all intense and purposes a desk draw seems to be an ideal location because important papers are usually kept inside.

Do not take that thinking cap off yet, you are not finished. Money plays a key role in going out of town on emergencies or quick road trips. How will you pay to get where you need to be? Most people unless rich live paycheck to paycheck. If that is the case, there are strategies for setting aside cash for these purposes. Out of each paycheck take a few dollars even if only twenty at a time and place in an account that cannot be touched unless necessary. Continue the process as long as possible to build up a steady amount. Forget about it and before you know it, there is some nice change stored away.

Another resource for adding funds to an account is tax refunds. Many people who file taxes receive money back each year if they are fortunate enough not to pay in. Take all or half received back and put over into the savings. It will build up quicker and faster than imagined and leave you with comfort knowing you have funds available.

What is that blue thing sitting in the corner with all that dust? An old table you never use? Sell it and make some cash. Clean up each room of the house and sell off things you never use. You would be surprised to see what people buy at auction online. One piece of something might bring in more money than you ever imagined, if the right buyer comes along.

In addition, it helps eliminate clutter from around your home giving more living space. On the outside sell off junk cars, appliances and things of this nature for scrap. Old lawn mowers, broken equipment, aluminum, copper and such all bring in cash. You will be surprised at what recycle or junk yards purchase for cash.

Set your mind to saving cash. Make a plan and work a plan. That is a great tip for last minute travel.
