The Peoples Republic does not have an official state religion. There are at least five traditional faiths that are recognized and accepted by the government. These are: the Islamic, Catholic, Protestant, Taoist and Buddhist faiths. The most often held beliefs are Taoist and Buddhist by those who practice a religion.
